This year class 10th board exam will be started from 15 February 2025 and will last upto 18 March 2025, it will take around 32 days to complete the class 10th board exam. SECTION A: READING
This section will have two unseen passages of a total length of 700-750. The arrangement within the reading section is as follows:
1. A factual passage of 300-350 words with eight objective-type questions (including Multiple Choice Questions).
2. A Discursive passage of 350-400 words with four Short Answer Type Questions to test inference, evaluation, and analysis and four objective type questions (including Multiple Choice Questions) to test vocabulary.
SECTION B: WRITING AND GRAMMAR
For writing tasks, there will be internal choice
3. Formal letter based on a given situation in about 150-200 words.
4. Writing an analytical paragraph based on the given map/chart/ report/ line graph etc. in about 150-200 words 10 marks
The Grammar syllabus will include the following topics in class X:

LITERATURE TEXTBOOK AND SUPPLEMENTARY READING TEXT

7. One out of two extracts from prose/poetry/drama for reference to context. Two Short Answer Type Questions on interpretation.
8. Five Short Answer Type Questions out of seven to be answered in 30-40 words each from FIRST FLIGHT and FOOTPRINTS WITHOUT FEET (three from FIRST FLIGHT and two from FOOTPRINTS WITHOUT FEET).
9. One out of two Long Answer Type Questions from the book ' FIRST FLIGHT’to be answered in about 100-150 words each to assess creativity, imagination, and extrapolation beyond the text and across the texts. This can be a passage-based question taken from a situation/plot from the texts.
10. One out of two Long Answer Type Questions from the book ‘FOOTPRINTS WITHOUT FEET ’ on theme or plot involving interpretation, extrapolation beyond the text, and inference or character sketch to be answered in about 100-150 words.

Conditions of eligibility for admission to class X.
1. Candidates who have been studying in a School recognised by or affiliated to this Board or any other recognised Board of Secondary Education in India.
2. Candidates can not take admission directly in class X.
3. Candidates had completed a regular course of study for class IX and passed class IX examination from a school affilicated to this Board.
4. The candidates percentage for attendance should be 75% so that the Board to make him/her eligible for the Examinations.
5. Candidate can be admitted to a school only on the transfer of the parents(s) or shifting of their families from one place to another, after procuring from the student the marksheet and the Transfer Certificate duly counter signed by the Educational Authorities of the Board concerned.
6. There is no age limit for candidates taking the Examination.
7. Candidate should have doucments in support of his having passed the qualifying or equivalent qualifying examination.

The long answer type questions were different but straightforward.
1. This Question Paper contains 60 questions out of which 50 questions are to be attempted.
2. This question paper consists of three Sections - Section A, B, and Section C.
3. Section A Reading contains 18 questions. Attempt 14 questions from Q. No. 1 to 18.
4. Section - B-Writing & Grammar- contains 12 questions. Attempt any 10 questions from Q. No. 19 to 30.
5. Section C - Literature contains 30 questions. Attempt any 26 questions from Q. No. 31 to 60.
6. First 14 questions in Section A, 10 questions in Section B, and 26 questions in Section C will be evaluated.

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday, February 26, successfully conducted the Class 10 English subject examination 2020. The Paper was very easy as many students completed the paper before the given time. The question paper had adequate internal choices given in each section which was a great relief for students. Finally, wait is over and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced class 10 Board exams date. This year class 10th board exam will be started from 15 February 2025 and will last upto 18 March 2025, it will take around 32 days to complete the class 10th board exam. The first exam will be held on 15 February 2025 for English subject and the last exam will be held on 18 March 2025 for Computer Applications, Information Technology & Artificial Intelligence subjects. The practical exams/Internal Assesment/Projects & the board's annual theory examinations are scheduled to start w.e.f 01th January 2025 and 15th February 2025.
