The National Testing Agency (NTA) has addressed growing concerns surrounding discrepancies in the JEE Main 2025 Session 2 provisional answer key and candidate response sheets. These concerns were raised following the exam held in April, with multiple candidates and coaching institutes highlighting issues such as blank responses, incorrectly captured answers, and potentially inaccurate solutions.
NTA’s Official Clarification
NTA reaffirmed its commitment to a fair and transparent evaluation process. In a statement shared via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the agency clarified that the response sheets are made available alongside the provisional answer key to maintain openness.
“The NTA considers every objection seriously and encourages students to actively participate in the challenge process to ensure accuracy,” the agency stated.
It also emphasized that the current answer key is provisional and should not be used to calculate final scores. Final results will be released only after all challenges have been thoroughly reviewed and a final answer key is published.
Advisory For Students
Candidates are urged to avoid relying on unverified reports or speculations that may cause undue stress. The NTA recommends checking only the official website for updates.
The final results for JEE Main 2025 Session 2 are expected to be declared on April 17, 2025.
Reported Issues In Answer Key And Response Sheets
Students, including those associated with leading coaching institutes, have pointed out specific errors in the April 9 exam paper. According to various reports:
9 questions are believed to be incorrect.
4 from Physics
3 from Chemistry
2 from Mathematics
Students have requested that these questions either be removed from scoring or awarded grace marks to ensure a fair evaluation process.
Additionally, some candidates have reported that their submitted answers were incorrectly recorded in the response sheets.
Objection Window And Process
The provisional answer key for JEE Main 2025 Session 2 was released on April 11, 2025, and candidates were allowed to raise objections until April 13, 2025.
