Description

The Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) will close the registration window for the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2025 on April 15, 2025. Interested and eligible candidates can complete their applications by visiting the official website.

IISER IAT 2025: Exam Schedule and Pattern

The IISER IAT 2025 is scheduled for Sunday, May 25, 2025, at 9:00 AM and will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode at various centers nationwide. This exam is the gateway for admission into the 5-Year BS-MS (Dual Degree), 4-Year BS, and B.Tech programs offered by IISERs.

  • Total Questions: 60 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)

  • Subjects: 15 questions each from Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics

  • Total Marks: 240

  • Duration: 180 minutes

  • Marking Scheme: +4 for each correct response, -1 for each incorrect one

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for IAT 2025:

  • Applicants must be Indian nationals, OCI/PIO, or foreign nationals.

  • Candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent in 2023, 2024, or 2025 with a science stream from a COBSE-recognized board.

  • Foreign nationals must submit an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) unless they studied under a COBSE-recognized board.

  • Aspirants must have studied at least three of the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics during their qualifying exam.

  • For specific courses such as BS-MS in Computational and Data Sciences (IISER Kolkata), B.Tech (IISER Bhopal), BS in Economic Sciences (IISER Bhopal), and BS in Economic and Statistical Sciences (IISER Tirupati), Mathematics is a mandatory subject in Class 12.

Minimum Marks Requirement:

  • SC/ST/PwD candidates: 55% or equivalent grade

  • All other categories: 60% or equivalent grade

Application Fee

  • General, EWS, OBC, OBC-NCL: Rupees 2000

  • SC, ST, PwD, Kashmiri Migrants, and Non-Migrant Kashmiri Pandit/Hindu Families: Rupees 1000
