In a significant update to its examination structure, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has introduced an additional attempt for the CA Final Examination, which will now be conducted three times annually. This aligns it with the CA Intermediate and CA Foundation levels, which were previously updated to a thrice-a-year format last year.
Under the new system, the CA Final exams will now be organized in the months of January, May, and September, offering aspirants more flexibility and additional chances to clear the examination in a year.
Alongside this reform, ICAI has also revamped the examination frequency of the Post Qualification Course (PQC) in Information Systems Audit. Formerly held twice yearly in June and December, the Assessment Test for this course will now take place three times a year in February, June, and October.
Commenting on the change, ICAI President CA Charanjot Singh Nanda said, “These transformative decisions will provide enhanced opportunities to both students and members. By expanding the number of exam cycles, we are ushering in a new era of professional development for future Chartered Accountants. ICAI remains committed to the continuous growth of its members and students, ensuring that they have ample opportunities to achieve excellence.”
