Description

The application process for NEET UG 2025 has been completed and now all the candidates have started preparing for the exam. This exam will be conducted on 4th May 2025. NEET UG is the biggest medical entrance exam in the country, in which lakhs of students participate every year. This year also 23 lakh students have registered for the exam, while the total medical seats across the country are only 1,09,048. That is, there will be competition between about 19 students for one seat.

Competition Will Be Even Tougher For Government Seats

The most competition will be seen for government seats. There are a total of 322 government medical colleges across the country, in which only 55,880 seats are available. Due to low fees and high quality education in government colleges, the priority of students always remains on government seats. In such a situation, only the students who get the top 55,880 rank will get admission to government seats. The rest of the students will have to pay high fees for admission in private colleges.

How Many Government Seats Are Available In Which State?

According to the data of NEET UG 2025, Tamil Nadu has the highest number of government seats. There are a total of 5,250 seats in 38 government colleges. This is followed by Maharashtra with 5,125 seats in 32 colleges and Uttar Pradesh with a total of 4,303 seats in 35 government colleges.

10% Seats Reserved For EWS

Out of the total seats of NEET UG, 10% seats have been reserved for the economically weaker section (EWS). The Medical Council of India (MCI) has already approved this decision. Cutoff Will Be High – Better Score Is Required For Success

The cutoff of NEET UG is increasing every year. Given the limited number of government seats and increasing competition, students will have to work hard to get a better rank. Especially to capture government seats, it will be necessary for the students to come in the top rank.

Strategy And Hard Work Are Necessary For Success

For success in NEET UG, students have to make a strong strategy along with studies. Deep understanding of the subjects, time management and practice of mock tests will be the key to success. Now it remains to be seen which students succeed in securing government seats in this fierce competition.
