Eligibility Criteria For NEST 2025
To be eligible for admission to the integrated MSc program at NISER/CEBS, candidates must meet the following requirements:
The candidate should have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination in 2023 or 2024. Candidates appearing for their Class 12 exams in 2025 are also eligible.
Candidates must have secured at least 60% marks in aggregate in their Class 12 final exams from a recognized board in India. For SC/ST and Divyangjan candidates, the minimum is 55%.
Candidates must rank in the NEST 2025 merit list. There is no upper age limit for NEST 2025.

SC/ST/Divyangjan candidates: Rupees 700
Male/Other applicants (UR/OBC): Rupees 1,400
Purpose Of NEST
NEST is a mandatory exam for admission to the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) and the University of Mumbai – Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS). These institutions, supported by the Department of Atomic Energy, aim to train scientific professionals for advanced research and contribute to the country's scientific programs.
Admitted candidates are eligible for an annual scholarship of Rupees 60,000 under the DISHA program of the Department of Atomic Energy, along with a Rupees 20,000 annual grant for summer internships.
