The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a notice regarding examination ethics for students of Class 10 and 12. These students are set to appear for their board exams, which will begin on February 15, 2025. The notice, directed towards school principals and heads, emphasizes the importance of fair conduct during the exams for the benefit of students.
The official communication states that fair examination practices are crucial for the academic growth of students. The CBSE has outlined specific "Unfair Means Rules," which should be explained to students before their exams. Schools are urged to inform students about the examination rules, ethical guidelines, and related consequences of malpractice. Students should also be cautioned against believing or spreading rumors that could disrupt the examination process.
In addition to informing students, schools are advised to brief parents about the rules and penalties associated with unfair practices. On the day of the examination, students should be reminded not to bring any prohibited items to the exam centers.
Examination officials should also be reminded of their responsibilities in ensuring the smooth conduct of the exams.
The notice also states that a provision has been added to the UFM rules under the ‘Act of Unfair Means’.
