The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has opened the resignation window for NEET PG 2024 candidates who wish to opt out of the seats allocated during Round 1 and Round 2. Candidates interested in resigning their seats can do so by visiting the official website. The resignation window will remain open until 6 PM on December 26, 2024.
This decision follows multiple requests from PG candidates seeking to resign from their assigned Round 1 or Round 2 seats for various reasons. According to the official notice, "MCC has received numerous requests from PG candidates who wish to resign their Round 1 or Round 2 seats due to different circumstances. The competent authority has decided to allow resignations for such candidates between 4 PM on December 17, 2024, and 6 PM on December 26, 2024."

Key Points To Remember
Those who were upgraded in Round-2, joined the upgraded seat, but now wish to resign, can vacate their seat, again with forfeiture of the security deposit, within the given timeframe.
To officially resign, candidates must report physically to the allotted college.
The resignation letter must be generated online through the portal provided by MCC, and it must be issued by the allotted college. Failure to do so will result in the resignation being considered "null and void."
MCC Updates On Round 3 Counselling
In addition, the MCC has activated the intraMCC portal for PG institutes to contribute seats for Round 3 of the PG counselling 2024. Participating institutes, including those under AIQ, Deemed Universities, and Central Institutes, must submit their seat contributions by 5 PM on December 12, 2024.
The MCC clarified that institutes should not contribute seats that remain vacant after Round-2 due to reasons such as "non-reporting," "cancellation," or "resignation," nor should they re-contribute seats that have already been listed in earlier rounds. Additionally, institutes where the National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved an increase in the number of seats after the completion of Round 2 are encouraged to contribute the new or additional seats through the portal.
