Description

University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Jagadesh Kumar recently held a session with students from various degree colleges who had successfully cleared the CUET UG 2024 exams. The interaction focused on potential modifications to the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for the 2025 academic year.

During the meeting, the Chairman emphasized that, based on feedback from students who participated in previous exams, the UGC is considering several changes to improve the CUET exam process for the upcoming year. He mentioned that the UGC has formed an expert committee tasked with reviewing various aspects of the CUET UG and PG exams for 2025.

Kumar shared that the committee has thoroughly examined key components of the exam, including its structure, the number of papers, test duration, alignment with syllabi, and logistical operations. As a result of the review and student feedback, the UGC plans to issue a draft proposal outlining revised guidelines for the CUET UG and PG exams for 2025. The proposal will be open for feedback from students, parents, teachers, and educational institutions.

Notably, the 2024 CUET UG exams featured several changes, such as adjustments to the exam format, the number of subjects allowed, and the overall difficulty level. To alleviate stress, subjects with higher registration used OMR sheets, and the difficulty level was moderated to make the exam more manageable for students.
