Description
Three schools in Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu have been selected winners of the World's Best School Prize 2024. This is a record year for Indian schools, and two of them will earn $10,000 apiece.
The three schools are Ryan International School in Vasant Kunj, Delhi; CM RISE School Vinoba in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh; and Kalvi International Public School in Madurai, Tamil Nadu.
“For India to have not one but three schools triumph shows that the nation’s institutions truly stand among the best in the world. It is my hope that governments now look to your shining examples to see what can be achieved when schools are committed to high performance and when education seeks to tackle some of the greatest challenges our societies face,” said Vikas Pota, Founder of T4 Education and the World’s Best School Prizes.
CM RISE School Vinoba, a state-run kindergarten to secondary school built for indigenous girls in an urban slum settlement, got the Innovation award. Ryan International School, which serves kindergarten through secondary school, won the World's Best School Prize for Environmental Action. Kalvi International Public School was declared the winner of the Community Choice Award. This category included 50 schools that had been shortlisted.
Ryan International School in Delhi was recognized for its creative approach to water problems and pollution, which included hydroponics and biogas plants. The prize money will be used to enhance the school's green technology and create a start-up incubator for student-led environmental ventures.
“We are immensely thrilled that our Ryan International School, Vasant Kunj, has been crowned as the World Champion for Environmental Action in 2024! We thank our Lord Jesus Christ for this great honour and are very grateful that T4 education has recognised our efforts,” said Grace Pinto, Managing Director.
