The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced changes to the test scheme for the National Eligibility and Entrance Test Super Speciality, or NEET SS 2024. According to the notification posted on the official website, two themes in the test will have different question papers. There will be separate question papers for admission to the following courses-
DM/DrNB Medical Oncology
DM/DrNB Critical Care Medicine
The board stated that the questions in these papers will only come from their respective groups. The NBEMS implemented these changes in response to the National Medical Commission's (NMC) directives. The rest of the examination scheme will remain unchanged from what was released in the NEET SS 2023 information bulletin, according to the board.
It further stated that prior eligible feeder qualifications for DM, MCh, and DrNB admissions shall be in compliance with the Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023, as well as any clarifications or revisions provided by the NMC from time to time.

The eligibility and ranking tests for Super Specialty courses are tentatively set for March 29 and 30, 2025. The final test schedule and information bulletin will be made available on the official website in due course. The NEET SS 2024 information bulletin will teach candidates about eligibility requirements, fee structure, exam pattern, and other details. They can contact NBEMS using its communication web portal with any questions, clarifications, or requests for assistance.
The appeal against NMC's decision not to hold NEET SS in 2024 was rejected by SC. In August, the Supreme Court dismissed a petition contesting the National Medical Commission's (NMC) decision not to hold the NEET SS exam in 2024.
Referring to a previous decision, petitioners stated that NEET SS must be held every year, and that the top court has already established a timetable for admission to super speciality courses. The Supreme Court bench of Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, Justices JB Pardiwala, and Manoj Misra stated the NMC's decision was adequately reasonable and refused to change the exam calendar.
