Description
The Directorate of School Education, Kashmir has scheduled ten-day summer breaks for Kashmir schools. From July 8 to 17, 2024, all private and government schools will be closed. Parents and students can contact the school administration with any questions or concerns about Kashmir School Summer Vacation 2024.
The official order reads, “It is ordered that all the government and private recognised schools up to higher secondary level functioning in the Kashmir Division shall observe summer vacation 08th July, 2024 to 17th July 2024.”
The decision to announce Kashmir School Summer Vacation 2024 was verified by Alok Kumar, the Principal Secretary to the Government for School Education. He underlined the upcoming academic break while emphasizing IMD's weather forecast, which forecasted rains in the area until July 7, 2024.
Jammu School Reopening Date 2024
Meanwhile, the Directorate of School Education, Jammu announced summer holidays in all private and government schools from June 1 to July 16, 2024 (summer zone). The official order states, “All the government and recognised private schools falling in Summer Zone of Jammu Division shall observe summer vacation from 01-06-2024 to 16-07-2024.” So now, schools in Jammu will be reopening on July 17, 2024."

In a related move, Jammu and Kashmir's School Education Department has directed that all UT schools begin their morning assemblies with the national song. The Principal Secretary to the Government, School Education Department, issued a circular requesting that all schools in the Union Territory make morning assemblies uniform.
