Description
The Banaras Hindu University (BHU), as part of its "massive exercise" to rebuild and modernize existing facilities, has planned to build a new girl's hostel at Mahila Mahavidyalaya. The proposed hostel would have a capacity of more than 1000 students and will include spacious rooms, communal spaces, dining halls, reading and medical rooms, as well as a housing facility for student parents.
Meanwhile, BHU is also looking to upgrade and extend Bhagwan Das and Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Hostels, along with development of academic and residential blocks at the Kamachha Campus, construction of Vishram Sadan for attendants of patients coming to BHU for treatment, modernization and upgradation of display galleries of Bharat Kala Bhawan, renovation and upgradation of the central library building, restoration and facelift of the main building for Department of Chemistry.
The BHU's current Science and Home Sciences buildings are also proposed to be renovated, allowing them to solve space and advanced facility needs.
