Wipro, the IT conglomerate, has announced the departure of its CEO, Thierry Delaporte. In his place, the company's Board of Directors has appointed Srinivas Pallia as the next CEO and Managing Director, beginning April 7, 2024.
Thierry Delaporte's Career And Achievements
Delaporte, a French national with over three decades of expertise in the worldwide IT business, recently worked as Capgemini's Chief Operating Officer. He was appointed Wipro's CEO in July 2020 and has since guided the company with his significant experience. Delaporte was renowned as the highest-paid CEO in the Indian IT business, with an annual remuneration exceeding Rs 82 crore.
Srinivas Pallia's Background And Qualifications
The new CEO, Srinivas Pallia, has a distinguished career at Wipro spanning over three decades. He has a thorough awareness of the company's many geographies, functions, service lines, and business units, which will benefit his leadership abilities. Pallia has held a variety of executive positions, including President of Wipro's Consumer Business Unit and Global Head of Business Application Services. He recently triumphed as CEO of Americas 1, Wipro's largest and fastest-growing market.
Pallia has a bachelor's degree in engineering and a master's in management studies from the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore. He has expanded his knowledge through executive programs at prestigious universities including Harvard Business School and McGill Executive Institute.
