Description
Aaryan Shukla, an eighth-grade student, set a Guinness World Record for the 'fastest time to mentally add 50 five-digit numbers.' Aaryan, a Delhi Public School Nashik student, broke the record in 25.19 seconds on the Italian TV show 'Lo Show Dei Record' in Milan, Italy on February 29, 2024.
According to a news statement issued by DPS Nashik, the little arithmetic whiz has previously received recognition for his skill. In 2022, Aaryan was crowned 'World Champion' in the Mental Calculation World Cup in Paderborn, Germany, where he represented India among the top 40 human calculators from 20 countries around the world.
Not only that, but in 2018, when he was only eight years old, Aaryan represented India in the 'Memorial Turkey Open Championship in Istanbul, Turkey, winning ten medals, including seven golds, one silver, and two bronzes, as well as setting two Kids World Records. According to the press release, Aaryan currently holds the record for the most medals won in a single Memorial tournament.
Notably, Aaryan is one of the founding board members of the Global Mental Calculators Association (GMCA), a globally diversified elite association of mental calculators dedicated to developing and strengthening mental calculation.
Meanwhile, Siddharth Rajgarhia, the Chief Learner and Director of DPS Nashik, congratulated Aaryan on his recent achievement, saying it is a moment of tremendous pride for the nation.
