Description
Professor Meena Charanda, Principal of Kalindi College at Delhi University, has received the coveted 'International Culture Award' for the year 2024. Professor Charanda received this distinction in appreciation of her outstanding contributions to education and social service. The award ceremony was held on March 30, 2024, at the India International Centre.

A 5-member jury led by K Yogesh, Chairman of Socrates Social Research University (Trust), selected the winners of the 'International Culture Award'. The group included skilled experts from a variety of professions.
According to K Yogesh, more than 50 women were considered for this award, but Professor Charanda was ultimately chosen for her great contributions to education, social service, and political science research.

About Professor Meena Charanda
Professor Charanda has been teaching in Kalindi College's Political Science Department for over two decades.
She has a PhD from Delhi University, where she investigated the Dalit Assemblies of Uttar Pradesh.
Professor Charanda has written a book about the role of Dalit MLAs in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly.
She has written over 50 articles for various publications and magazines.
Professor Charanda currently supervises two PhD researchers.
