Union Commerce Minister Unveiled Rankings
Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal on January 17 released the highly awaited rankings. The study was carried out by the body for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), a significant body under the Commerce Ministry. The rankings covered a wide range of states and union territories, providing a comprehensive picture of the startup ecosystem in the country.
Categories And Participation
The examination involved 33 states and union territories, divided into five categories: best performers, top performers, leaders, aspiring leaders, and emerging startup ecosystems. The rankings demonstrate the diversity and evolution of the startup ecosystem across the country.
Ministerial Meeting With Unicorn Startups
In a related move, Minister Piyush Goyal is scheduled to meet with top representatives from about 40 unicorn businesses. The agenda covers discussions about measures for promoting sustainable growth in the sector.
Notable companies such as Lenskart, Zerodha, CarDekho, EasyMyTrip, and Boat are slated to attend the gathering. The discussions will focus on many aspects of the startup scene, such as dangers, domestic capital mobilization initiatives, and ways to stimulate innovation.

According to the DPIIT report, Gujarat, Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu performed admirably in building a favorable environment for entrepreneurs. These states have been influential in enacting policies that encourage entrepreneurship and innovation.
