Description
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stated that all government and private schools in the state will be closed from January 8 to 14, 2024, due to the extreme cold. The schools will be closed for students until class 10, but will reopen for students in classes 11 and 12. Classes will be held from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
According to the latest weather forecast, dense fog and cold days are expected to persist in Pathankot, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ropar, Mohali, and Patiala districts until 9 December.

Other districts, including Bathinda, Barnala, Fazilka, Ferozepur, Faridkot, Muktsar, Moga, Mansa, and Sangrur, are predicted to have intense fog until today, with conditions improving by tomorrow.
