The Indian Medical Association (IMA) and the Trained Nurses Association of India were jointly awarded the prestigious Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace, Disarmament, and Development for the year 2022. Former Vice-President Hamid Ansari gave the award to Dr. Sharad Kumar Agarwal, President of the IMA, and Professor (Dr.) Roy K.
