Description
The Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has selected G. Thilakavathi IPS, former Director General of Police (DGP) of Tamil Nadu, as 'Student Ombuds'.
G. Thilakavthi IPS will oversee and address student grievances, safety, and disciplinary issues in her role as Student Ombuds. She will be responsible for developing and cultivating an inclusive environment on campus, ensuring that students have a supportive environment for academic and personal growth.
She will collaborate closely with students and provide them with assistance. The institute management will also work closely with the Student Ombuds to handle issues in a timely way.
