Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) named former India captain Ajay Jadeja as team mentor for the forthcoming One-Day International World Cup, which will be contested in India from October 5 to November 19.

Ajay Jadeja, former Indian captain and middle-order batsman, has an illustrious cricket career to his credit. He played 15 Test matches for India from 1992 to 2000, accumulating 576 runs at an impressive average of 26.18, with four half-centuries to his name and a top score of 96. In One Day Internationals (ODIs), he made a significant impact, representing India in 196 matches and scoring 5359 runs at a stellar average of 37.47. This included six centuries and 30 half-centuries in the limited-overs format.

Ajay Jadeja's contributions go beyond international cricket. He was an integral part of 111 first-class matches and 291 List A matches, demonstrating his versatility and ability in different playing formats.
