About Conocarpus Tree
It is a flowering tree belonging to the Combretaceae family.
It is an invasive mangrove species.
Trees of this species flower in winter and spread pollen to nearby areas.
It has been used by several government agencies in India as landscaping for central reserves, along roads and in public gardens.
Countries on the Arabian Peninsula have used the plant to block sand from desert storms and control pollution. This tree is known for its dark green leaves all year round and can withstand harsh environmental conditions such as high and low temperatures.
It is very adaptable and could even grow in areas with extreme salinity.
It absorbs more water from the soil than other species and poses a threat to groundwater.
This species penetrates deep into the ground and grows too large to damage communications cables, drainage pipes, and drinking water lines.
It is native to parts of North and South America and parts of Africa.
