Description
The Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory has opened its first space lab at Government Higher Secondary School Boys in Kishtwar. The space lab is specifically created for students in government schools. The space lab, built by Vyomika Space Academy as part of the ISRO space tutor program, was supported by the Directorate of Education Jammu.
In the presence of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr Devansh Yadav, Chief Education Officer Prehlad Bhagat, and I/C Principal of host school Sandeep Rathore, the inaugural event was held at Government Higher Secondary School Boys Kishtwar. Students and faculty from the school were also on hand to witness this historic cosmic occurrence.
According to an official release, the establishment of the space lab in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar government school symbolizes a huge leap in educational technology.
This facility has a high-tech telescope, ISRO rocket and satellite demonstration models, drones, and aircraft. This will allow students to explore about the wonders of the universe as well as noteworthy ISRO space missions.
Govind Yadav, CEO of Vyomika Space Academy, provided a detailed overview of the lab's operation and ability to inspire and expand students' knowledge of space, science, and technology during an interactive session.
The Deputy Commissioner urged students in attendance to make the most of the space lab. He emphasized that it would not only promote a better awareness of space, but would also inspire kids to pursue jobs in space sciences.
This program is expected to spark student interest in astronomy-related activities, potentially leading to jobs in this interesting field.
Students at government schools from Class 6 to 12 will also have the option to get skill development training sessions from the cutting-edge lab.
