Description
The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has rationalized the syllabus and marking structure for topics in classes 9 and 10, including math, physics, and social science. The rationalization followed the National Education Policy (NEP) for the school year 2023-24.
According to the JK Board, the JKBOSE Class 10 syllabus for three courses has been rationalized. However, the manner in which marks are given will not be the same as last year. The syllabus and grading method for JKBOSE Class 9 have changed.
Class 10 Board Exams 2024: Important Subjects, Curricula And Evaluation
The essential subjects for the Class 10 board Exams 2024, according to the study schedule, are General English, Urdu or Hindi, Maths, Social Science (economics, history, political science, disaster management, road safety education, and geography), and Science (chemistry, physics, and biology).
Furthermore, the board has stated that the English, Hindi, and Urdu curricula and evaluation will remain the same for classes 9 and 10.
Internal assessment is worth 20 marks for all essential topics and 80 marks for written exams, according to the marking scheme.
JKBOSE Optional Subjects
According to NEP 2020, the evaluation system for subjects that are optional or supplemental as well as for children with special needs (CWSN) has altered. “No repetition of compulsory language/ subject is allowed while opting for Additional/ Optional language/ subject, ‘’ reads the Class 10 syllabus brochure.
