The National Defence Academy (NDA) is a national-level entrance test held twice a year by the UPSC to recruit eligible candidates for the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the National Defence Academy.

Steps To Fill NDA Online Application Form
1. Registration:
Visit the official website of UPSC.
Click on “ONLINE APPLICATION FOR VARIOUS EXAMINATIONS OF UPSC”.
Click on “Click Here for PART I” and read the instructions carefully and click on “Yes”.
2. Filling up the NDA application form: Candidates need to fill their personal, academic, and contact details in the NDA application form and note down system-generated application numbers. They also have to create a password that will be used for future logins. Below are the details that the candidates should fill in the application form:
Basic details: Candidates need to fill out the category, nationality, personal details, select exam centres, date of birth, gender, father's name or mother's name, address, etc.
Preferences:
On page 1, fill out the details such as name, gender, date of birth, parents’ name, nationality, etc., and click on “continue”.
On page 2, select the options and mark them between 1 to 4 or mark ‘0’ if you do not want to give any preference. Those who are from Sainik/Military School or Son of JCO/NCO/Other Rank Officer must fill pages 3 & page 4.
3. Upload of Prescribed Documents & Images (Photographs and Scanned Signatures): Upload photographs, signatures, and thumb impressions as per specification. Images that are not as per the prescribed specification shall not be considered and may lead to rejection of the application.
4. Choose your Test City Pay the Examination Fee: The application fee for the NDA Exam is Rupees 100. However, SC and ST candidates are exempted from paying the application fees. The application fees can be paid online or by depositing the money in any branch of SBI Bank.
5. Print the Confirmation page: The last step is to take printouts of the confirmation page, after successful payment of NDA application fees.
Steps For NDA Exam Form Correction
Candidate can make a correction during the part 1 of registration.
Once the application form is submitted, then the correction will not be allowed.
There is no window correction facility for candidate.
The incomplete application form will be rejected.
All information must be correct.
Eligibility Criteria
Nationality:
1) A citizen of India or
2) A subject of Nepal or,
3) A subject of Bhutan or,
4) A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India or,
5) A person originally Indian who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India
Provided, however, that a candidate in categories 2, 3, 4, and 5 must be a person in whose favor an eligibility certificate has been granted by the Indian government. However, an eligibility certificate is not required for Gorkha candidates from Nepal.

Age Limit:
Lower Age Limit - 5.5 years (not later than 1st January 2007)/ 16 years during the commencement of the course
Upper Age Limit - 18.5 years (not earlier than 2nd January 2004)/ 19 years during the commencement of the course
Marital Status
According to NDA eligibility, only unmarried male and female candidates can apply for the exam. Candidates should not marry till their training is completed. Candidates who marry during their training will be discharged and must repay the government for any expenses incurred.
Physical Fitness Criteria: Height And Weight Requirements
Candidates should be aware that the minimum height requirement is 157 cms (162.5 cms for the Air Force).
The minimum height for Gorkhas and those from the hills of North-Eastern India, Garhwal, and Kumaon shall be 5 cms less than the standard value.
On the other side, candidates from the Lakshadweep Islands may have their minimum height reduced by 2 cms.

Physical Fitness Criteria: Body Tattoo
The candidate must make certain that any permanent body tattoos are only on the inside side of the forearm.
Tattoos on the inside of the elbow to the wrist, as well as the reverse side of the palm/back (dorsal) side of the hand, would not be accepted by UPSC.
Permanent tattoos on any other region of the body are not permitted.
If the candidate belongs to a tribe whose tattoo marks on the face or body are traditional, acceptance will be given on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the traditions involved. In such cases, the decision of the authorities would be definitive.
