The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela reported on July 24 that it had received the most employment offers through campus placements in an academic year during 2022-23.
More than 330 companies made 1,534 placement offers to NIT Rourkela students in 2022-23, and over 95% of B Tech students were placed, according to the report.
“Branches like BTech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering and Ceramic Engineering as well as Dual Degree in Mining Engineering and Ceramic Engineering recorded 100% placement of registered students,” the institute said in a press statement.
The institute has reported that twenty-four students have received packages worth more than 50 lakh per annum, with eight of them receiving the maximum package of 52.89 LPA.
"The average (overall) CTC jumped from Rupees11.15 LPA in 2021-2022 to Rupees 12.95 LPA in 2022-2023 achieving an increase of more than 16%. The average CTC of BTech for the year is Rupees 14.22 LPA.
The Computer Science Department had an average CTC of 21.87 LPA, whereas the Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering Department had an average CTC of 18.12 LPA. The average CTC for Electronics and Communication is 17.97 LPA, whereas the average CTC for the Electrical Department is 14.55 LPA. According to NIT Rourkela, 1,474 students have enrolled for placements in 2023-24.
During this recruitment drive, the leading recruiters were Software and IT Services, who made 31.1 percent of all offers. According to the institute, companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, and AWS, Hotstar, and SAP Labs recruited students.
Shell, Schlumberger, ExxonMobil, TATA Steel, and John Deere offered 26.8 percent of the total job offers in Core Engineering during the 2022-23 recruitment campaign. According to the institute, organizations such as Deloitte, PwC, Decimal Point Analytics, O9 Solutions, and Kantar engaged in NIT Rourkela recruiting this year, accounting for 15.3 percent of total offers. Landmark Group made 3 international offers, it added.
