Description
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will be launching a new Chartered Accountant (CA) syllabus on July 1, 2023. According to sources, the government has accepted the new CA exam curriculum. The revised syllabus for the CA course will be unveiled on July 1, 2023, the 75th anniversary of the CA course, which is also known as CA Foundation Day.
According to rumors, President Droupadi Murmu will introduce the new curriculum on July 1, and it would be in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The syllabus revision is expected to affect approximately 8 lakh students and will be implemented in 2024. Those appearing for the upcoming ICAI CA November and December exams, on the other hand, will be appearing in the exams using the previous curriculum.
ICAI CA New Syllabus
The new syllabus was developed in accordance with NEP guidelines and set by the ICAI Board of Studies (ICAI BOS). Students will be introduced to new generation themes such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and others in order to prepare them for the future.
According to sources, the revised curriculum will also reduce the articleship period from three to two years. A CA candidate will get only 12 days of leave per year under the new arrangement. During the three years of articleship, the current scheme provides 156 days of leave, with a maximum of 180 days.
ICAI CA December 2023 Exams
CA December 2023 exam registration and application are already underway. The deadline for students to submit applications is July 1, 2023, according to the dates published. Candidates who want to sit for the Foundation exams in December 2023 should apply through the ICAI's official website.
