Overview Of The SSC CHSL Tier I Examination 2023
Staff Selection Commission holds the Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) examination every year for the recruitment of Lower Divisional Clerk/ Junior Secretariat Assistant, Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant, and Data Entry Operator in various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations. Candidates for SSC CHSL must be between the ages of 18 and 27 and have completed Class 12.

Salary Structure
Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): Pay Level-2 (Rs. 19,900-63,200)
Data Entry Operator (DEO): Pay Level-4 (Rs. 25,500-81,100) and Level-5 (Rs. 29,200-92,300)
Data Entry Operator, Grade ‘A’: Pay Level-4 (Rs. 25,500-81,100)

SSC CHSL Tier I 2023: Scheme Of Exam
The Computer Based Examination will be conducted in two tiers as indicated below:

2. Tier II

SSC CHSL Examination Tier I will be held as a Computer Based Examination and will contain only Objective Type, Multiple choice-based questions. There will be a negative marking of 0.50 for each wrong answer.
Mode of Selection
The following are the minimum qualifying marks in Tier I, Section-I, Section-II, and Module-I of Section-III of Tier II Examination:
UR: 30%
OBC/ EWS: 25%
All other categories: 20%
Candidates will be shortlisted for Tier II examinations based on their performance in Tier I. Candidates' normalized scores will be used to determine merit and final selection
There may be separate category-wise cut-offs in Tier I and subsequent Tiers for different posts, e.g. (i) DEO/DEO Grade 'A' and (ii) DEO/ DEO Grade 'B'
