The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) announced on June 9 that candidates whose RD (receipt generated) numbers in the KCET or UG CET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) 2023 are mismatched will be considered under the general merit quota if the error is not corrected by the scheduled deadline of June 12, 11:00 am.
S Ramya, ED, KEA, clarified that candidates with mismatched RD numbers will be unable to seek places for professional courses under the reservation quota.
The list of candidates with mismatched RD numbers was released on the authority's website, and they were instructed to submit their right RD numbers from their cast/income/Kalyana Karnataka certificates. This must be done through the KEA site by June 12. Ramya has indicated that if this is not done, the candidates will be held personally liable for the repercussions.
She also stated that several students submitted EWS certificates rather than income certificates. This will not be accepted under CET guidelines.
Mismatching RD numbers were found in the details submitted by over 80,000 candidates out of the 2.6 lakh candidates who participated in CET-23. Given this, KEA has made editing easier as of June 7. However, Ramya indicated that over 30,000 names have yet to be corrected.
The process of verifying the RD numbers submitted by candidates with the RD numbers of the Revenue Department is currently underway, and candidates have been advised to take advantage of the last opportunity.
