The Pragati Maidan convention center has undergone extensive renovations, and it is now poised to hold its first major event since its rebuilding. The venue will soon host the NITI Aayog's 8th governing council meeting, which will be presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The theme of the meeting will be 'Viksit Bharat @ 2047: Role of Team India.'
Ownership And Construction Participation
The India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) owns the Pragati Maidan location. The task for its redevelopment has been assigned to NBCC (India) Ltd, a state-owned construction organization. The destruction of old structures, including the magnificent Hall of Nations, a monument of architectural brilliance designed by renowned architect Raj Rewal to mark 25 years of Indian independence, began in 2017.
Highlights Of The Redevelopment Project
The renovation project includes the creation of numerous cutting-edge amenities. The centerpiece is a convention-cum-expo center, which is complemented by six exhibition rooms, an administration building, and a 3,000-seat amphitheatre. These infrastructure improvements are intended to turn Pragati Maidan into a modern and adaptable site capable of holding high-profile events.
Meeting Of The G20 And The NITI Aayog
The elliptic-shaped convention center, which is now fully prepared, will not only host the NITI Aayog meeting, but also the highly anticipated G20 summit, which is set for September 9-10. The NITI Aayog meeting will serve as a dress rehearsal for the G20 Summit, with a diverse agenda covering topics such as Viksit Bharat @ 2047, MSMEs, infrastructure and investments, compliance minimization, women's empowerment, health and nutrition, skill development, and Gati Shakti for area development and social infrastructure.
Pragati Maidan Revealed
The rebuilt Pragati Maidan convention center is a symbol of India's devotion to modernization and growth. With its rebuilt infrastructure and expanded capabilities, it is positioned to become a top venue for holding large events and conferences. As the NITI Aayog conference approaches and the G20 Summit approaches, all eyes are on Pragati Maidan, a tribute to India's unwavering pursuit of excellence in diplomacy and global engagement.
