The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Sambalpur has completed its MBA (2021-2023) placement season. This year, the institute had a 100% placement rate, with the highest package being Rupees 64.61 lakh per annum (domestic) and Rupees 64.15 lakh per annum (international).

Surprisingly, the average salary for female candidates this year is higher than the national average. For MBA batch 2021-2023, the average salary is Rupees 16.64 lakh per annum and the median salary is Rupees 16 lakh per annum. However, the average annual salary for female students is Rupees 18.25 lakh.

This was also the largest batch size of the outgoing cohort that participated in the placement, with sales and marketing attracting over 27% of the batch, followed by General Management with 21%. Furthermore, the average salary for the top 10% of the batch is Rupees 31.69 lakh per year.

More than 130 recruiters participated in the IIM Sambalpur recruitment process, with 75 new recruiters making offers across various domains. Microsoft, Vedanta, Tolaram, Amul, Adani, EY, Accenture, Cognizant, Deloitte, and Amazon were among the companies that offered the most generous packages.

Average Salary Increases In Past 6 Years

The highest package and average salary have increased significantly since 2017. While the average placement this year is Rupees 16.64 lakh, it was Rupees 9.15 lakh in 2017. Similarly, the highest annual package increased from Rupees 13.80 lakh to Rupees 64.61 lakh in 2023.

Students were offered prominent roles in the Finance, HR, and Operations domains this year. Management Consultant, Functional Consultant, Product Manager, Seniors Analyst, Research & Advisory, Business Analyst, Team Lead, Sr Consultant, Senior Analyst, Product Management, Credit Manager, Digital Marketing Manager, Project Manager, Sr. RM, Key Account Management, Inventory Planner are among the positions available.
