The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) plans to host the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) on December 18, 2022. CLAT is a national-level admissions exam for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes provided by 22 NLUs in India. In addition to the 22 NLUs, many other law colleges in India consider CLAT scores for admission to their law programmes.
CLAT PG will be organized for 120 marks, whereas CLAT UG will be organized for 150 marks. In CLAT 2023, 0.25 marks will be subtracted for each incorrect response marked. There will be 150 multiple-choice questions worth one mark each on the CLAT UG exam paper.
Questions from the following subjects will be included in the CLAT 2022 UG question bank- English Language, Current Affairs (General Knowledge), Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Techniques. While the CLAT 2023 question paper will comprise questions on Constitutional Law and other areas of law such as Jurisprudence, Administrative Law, Law of Contract, Torts, Family Law, Criminal Law, Property Law, Company Law, Public International Law, Tax Law, Environmental Law, and Labour and Industrial Law.
Important Information For Candidates Appearing in CLAT 2023
The CLAT 2023 examination will be organized in offline mode.
Candidates should fill up their preferences for admission to NLUs before downloading their CLAT 2023 admit card.
Admission preferences can be submitted by December 17 till 11:59 pm.
The CLAT 2023 admit card is available on the official website.
Candidates are required to select at least five choices. The amount of preferences that may be filled has no limit.
