The Consortium of National Law Universities is set to start the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) registrations on August 8. On the official website, online applications for CLAT 2023, which is planned to take place on December 18, will be accepted until November 13. CLAT is held for both UG and PG law programmes.
Candidates qualifying for Class 12 or appearing on board examination are eligible to apply for CLAT UG and students who have completed the LLB or are in their final year of the LLB program are eligible to apply for CLAT LLM. Students have to obtain 45% or its equivalent on the qualifying exam for CLAT UG and 50% on the qualifying exam for CLAT PG. However, there is a relaxation for reserved category students.
CLAT 2023 Application Steps
The candidates have to register themselves at the CLAT 2023 website by using their personal mobile number and e-mail Id.
An OTP will be given to the registered mobile number after registration to verify it.
Once the mobile number has been verified, the candidates can login using their registered mobile number and the password provided at the time of registration.
Next, fill out the required form.
Make the payment of the application fee.
Submit the CLAT 2023 application form.
The candidate's and parent's names must be spelled exactly as they appear on all certificates, report cards, and other identification documents. Any modification or change could render the candidate ineligible.
As per the CLAT official statement, “Please note that once the application is submitted and paid, the candidate cannot change the program, category, and BPL field. Updates to application form will be not be entertained after the closure date.”
