Highlights

At the Pokhran firing ranges, the DRDO and the Indian Army flew a new version of the Pinaka rocket system. The Pinaka Mk-I (Enhanced) Rocket System (EPRS) and the Pinaka Area Denial Munition (PADM) were among the rocket systems used. The first phase of EPRS technology absorption by industry has been completed, and the industrial partners are ready to commence user trials and series manufacture of the rocket system.

The DRDO's Pune unit, Armament Research and Development Establishment, collaborated with the Pune-based High Energy Materials Research Laboratory to create the Pinaka rocket system. The EPRS is a modernised variant of the Pinaka, which has been in service with the Indian Army for the past decade. Advanced technologies have been added to the system, allowing it to increase its range to suit new demands.
