Professor Rakhi Chaturvedi of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has been named one of the top 75 Indian women in STEAM by the Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor and the British High Commission in New Delhi (Science, Technology, Engineering, Applied Arts and Mathematics).
Professor Chaturvedi is a professor at IIT Guwahati's Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering. 'She Is -75 Women in STEAM,' the second edition of the 'She Is' book series, will include her.
The goal of the 'She Is' book series, according to IIT Guwahati, is to "showcase more women role models for youngsters," "make visible women's leadership," and "create interest in STEAM and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs").
Prof Chaturvedi received a bachelor degree in science from Ewing Christian College in Allahabad and a master's degree in science from the University of Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh, India.
She earned her MPhil and PhD at the University of Delhi in India, and her post-doctoral studies were completed at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
Prof. Chaturvedi began his career at IIT Guwahati in 2004.
Prof Chaturvedi has made significant contributions to the fields of Plant Cell Tissue Culture and Agrobiotechnology, according to IIT Guwahati.
Prof Chaturvedi expressed her gratitude for the honour, saying that it will motivate her and her students to work harder on their research and development because the field of plant tissue culture requires a lot of dedication, patience, and perseverance to produce breakthrough research with societal impact.
