Praveen Kumar Sobti, well known for playing Bheem in BR Chopra's Mahabharat, died on February 7, 2022, at his home in Ashok Vihar, Delhi. He was 74 years old. According to reports, the actor had a heart attack. Sobti had a persistent chest illness, according to his family. His wife and daughter survive him, Praveen Kumar Sobti was also a gifted track and field athlete. He not only competed in two Olympic Games for India, but he was also a four-time Asian Games medallist. For his achievements, he received the Arjuna Award.

Because of his athletic qualifications, he was also appointed Deputy Commandant of the Border Security Force (BSF).
Change to Acting
Praveen Kumar Sobti began acting after retiring from track & field in the late 1970s.
His debut Bollywood film, directed by Ravikant Nagaich, included no speech from him.
He then starred in 'Raksha' in 1981, as well as Khudgarz, Karishma Kudrat Kaa, Ghayal, Ajooba, Yudh, Zabardast, AakKa Arjun, Ilaaka, Mohabbat Ke Dushman, and Singhasan.
His most noteworthy Bollywood role was as Mukhtaar Singh in Amitabh Bachchan's 'Shahenshah,' and he was also in Dharmendra's 'Loha.'
Due to his massive stature, he was frequently cast as a henchman, bodyguard, and goon.
His most notable part to date is Bheem in BR Chopra's 'Mahabharata,' which catapulted him to stardom. Sobti, like the other cast members, became associated with the role he played in the programme.
Sobti's most recent film was 'Mahabharat Aur Barbarik,' in which he repeated his role as Bheem.
Politics
Praveen Kumar Sobti has attempted his hand at politics, running in the 2013 Delhi Assembly elections on an Aam Aadmi Party ticket from the Wazirpur constituency. He lost, though, and afterwards joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.
He recently expressed his dissatisfaction with the Punjab government's refusal to pay him a pension.
