The drone airspace map is a follow-up to the Liberalized Drone Rules, 2021, which were published on August 25, 2021, the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for drones, which was published on September 15, 2021, and the Geospatial Data Guidelines, which were published on February 15. All these policy reforms by the government will aid in catalyzing super-normal growth in the upcoming drone sector.
Drones sector in India
Drones provide enormous benefits to almost every sector of the economy. Mining, agriculture, surveillance, infrastructure, transportation, emergency response, defence, geospatial mapping, and law enforcement are just a few examples. Drones have the potential to be significant creators of employment and economic growth in India due to their versatility and ease of use, particularly in inaccessible and remote areas. India has the potential to become a global drone hub by 2030 due to its traditional strengths in innovation, engineering, information technology, and domestic demand.
Reforms in the drones sector in India
Over the next three years, the drone PLI Scheme and freely accessible drone airspace maps, drones, and the drone component manufacturing industry may see an investment of more than Rs. 5,000 crores. With the new reforms, the annual sales turnover of the drone manufacturing industry could increase from Rs. 60 crore in 2020-21 to more than Rs. 900 crores in FY 2023-24. Over the next three years, the drone manufacturing industry is expected to create over 10,000 direct jobs.
The latest reforms will help the drone service industry (mapping, operations, surveillance, logistics, agri-spraying, software development, data analytics, etc.) in growing even on a larger scale and is expected to grow over Rs. 30,000 crores in the next 3 years. The drone services industry is also expected to grow and generate over five lakh jobs in three years
About Drone airspace Map
