Bernard Arnault, a French tycoon and the Chairman and CEO of the French Luxury Conglomerate LVHM Moet Hennessy-Louis Vuitton, has surpassed Amazon's founder Jeff Bezos' net worth, which fell $13.9 billion in a single day. According to the Forbes Real-time Billionaires list, Bernard Arnault, whose subsidiaries include Sephora, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co, and Moet & Chandon, had a net worth of $199.1 billion on August 5, 2021.
However, this is not the first time that Bernard Arnault, a French tycoon, has topped the list of the world's wealthiest people. Arnault was number one in December 2019, January 2020, May 2021, and July 2021. In recent months, he spent $538 million on shares of the world's largest luxury goods company.
Meanwhile, Amazon's founder's real-time net worth was $193.8 billion, while Elon Musk, a cryptocurrency enthusiast, had a net worth of $184.7 billion. Mukesh Ambani of India is ranked 12th on the Forbes list, with a net worth of $79.7 billion.
Jeff Bezos Net worth
Jeff Bezos's net worth had increased by $590 million. On August 6, Amazon stock fell 7.6% after the company reported second-quarter earnings. After Bernard Arnault amassed more than $100 billion in wealth during the first year of the COVID pandemic, LVMH's rally has stalled for the majority of the summer.
